Golf's biggest names set for tee-off at The Open

The pin positions have been marked, the fairways have been cut and the greens have been rolled as Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s Golf Club prepares to welcome the biggest stars of the professional tour for the return of The Open Championship to our shores in July 2012.

The Open is the oldest and most prestigious major golf tournament in existence and is regarded by many as the ultimate prize in golf. Excitement is also building amongst our Open hospitality guests, who are set to enjoy another fabulous feast of golf and entertainment this year.

Defending Open champion Darren Clarke is as keen as anyone to get the tournament underway but insists that he is feeling relaxed in the run up.

"I just want to give myself a chance at Lytham and be competitive, and I feel no pressure as my name is on the Claret Jug and it will be there forever. I know what winning a major is like and I want more of it - that's why I'm practising, I'm craving more success. I wasn't supposed to win it last year and it’s nice to go to Lytham where I'm not supposed to win it this year."

Clarke will be joined at The Open by golf’s biggest names, including much fancied British contenders Luke Donald, Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood who will be doing everything in their power to ensure they are still in the running on the final day of The Open 2012.

Whatever happens, The 141st Open Championship is destined to deliver another unmissable dose of tense drama throughout the tournament to the thousands of spectators around the course.

Hospitality Finder is delighted to offer official corporate hospitality at The Open 2012, perfect for entertaining guests at Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s Golf Club.
