Arsenal make FA Cup history at Wembley Stadium

Over the weekend thousands of football fanatics gathered at Wembley Stadium for the chance to see Aston Villa take on defending FA Cup title holders Arsenal in this year's spectacular FA Cup final.

Arsenal managed to hold on to the title for a second year as they defeated Aston Villa with an impressive 4 - 0 full time result. This makes Arsenal the most successful team in FA Cup history with twelve titles under their belt.

Walcott opened the scoring in the 40th minute at Wembley before further goals from Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker and Giroud secured the victory.

"I missed all this last year and to be part of it this year is a dream come true," said Walcott.

It was also a day of triumph for Arsene Wenger as he added his sixth FA Cup title to his impressive back catalogue of achievements for the Gunners.

"We have shown that we are a real team and can deal with pressure," said Wenger. "I congratulate the players, the staff and the fans. We are so happy.

"I had a difficult week to pick the team. But when confidence and sprit is so good it helps. I am very proud. Our club is doing well and if I can personally do well then it's even better.

"I have two more years of my contract and my hunger is great."
- Arsene Wenger, Arsenal Manager

The focus for Arsenal has now shifted on to next season where many believe they will rival Chelsea for next year's Premier League top spot. "Now we can look forward to next season and kick on and give it a real go in the Premier League." said Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
