Discover more about Darren Gough

Hailed as “one of the most respected and admired cricketers of our generation”, Darren Gough enjoyed a successful international career with England as well as captaining Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Now he teams his bowling experience with brilliant banter as part of the Hospitality Finder team…

“I’m happy to be an ambassador for Hospitality Finder - we have some great fun in The Green Room. You can join me and Kevin Pietersen at the Kia Oval for England v Australia ODI or England v India Test Match Series.”
Darren Gough

After breaking into the Yorkshire team in 1989, Darren arrived on the international cricket scene five years later. He played both Test and One Day International cricket for England, and quickly become one of England’s most celebrated bowlers - ultimately establishing himself as one of the team’s most successful wicket-takers.

After retiring from Test Cricket in 2003 with 229 wickets to his name, he continued to play One Day Internationals, where he became the first Englishman to take 200 wickets in one-day cricket. In his county career meanwhile, Darren gave 15 years’ service to Yorkshire CCC, before moving to Essex in 2004. At the start of the 2007 season, he made a heroes’ return to Yorkshire - where he became the club’s team captain for one final year.

Darren retired in 2008 with a total of 855 wickets under his belt in first-class cricket. He is without doubt one of England’s most admired bowlers of all time, and a legend of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

These days, he’s a popular sports radio presenter - noted not just for his knowledge of the game, but for his straight-talking nature and sparkling wit. No stranger to regaling tales of his playing days, he now brings this huge personality to The Green Room - with entertainment guaranteed…
